COTAD Capstone Repository©
Students in entry-level occupational therapy programs complete Capstone Projects as a requirement for degree completion. The occupational therapy capstone is a culminating experiential course which creates a pathway for the student to enhance skills in clinical practice, scholarship, administration, leadership, advocacy, program and policy development, education, or theory development. The occupational therapy doctoral capstone provides an opportunity for students to develop as innovative leaders and scholars of practice by demonstrating in-depth synthesis and application of knowledge within an area of focus in a mentored setting. The doctoral capstone consists of two components: the capstone project and the doctoral capstone experience.
Every year, OTD students are selected to partner with COTAD leaders who are subject matter experts in the field as they complete their Capstone Projects. In addition, many students in entry-level OT and OTA programs as well as OT practitioners enrolled in post-professional doctoral level programs work with external subject matter experts to develop programming and resources related to the mission of COTAD. In order to maximize the potential for impact of this valuable work, COTAD has created a database to showcase Capstone Projects and other products developed by students. The COTAD Capstone Repository© will continue to grow as students submit work related to the COTAD mission for open access through the COTAD site. We applaud the many OT and OTA students who are doing this action-oriented work and are proud to feature this work.
